How to set up Wireless on Windows 7


1.In the system Tray find the computer monitor symbol. Right click and select “Open Network and Sharing Center”

2.Select “Set up a new connection or network.

3.Select “Manually connect to a wireless network. Click Next.

4.Enter FoxRoach-Private for the network name. Security type is WPA2-Enterprise. Encryption type is AES. Click Next.

5.Once the network is added you will see this screen. Select “Change connection settings”

6.This window will pop up. Select the Security tab.

7.The network authentication method is Microsoft: PEAP. Click the settings button.

8.Make sure the Validate server certificate is unchecked. The authentication method is EAP-MSCHAPv2. Click Configure.

9.You will see the EAP MSCHAPv2 properties window. If this is an employee, check the box, if this is an agent uncheck the box. Click OK.

10. Back at the security tab of Wireless Network Properties. Click Advanced Settings

11.On the 802.1x Settings Tab. Check Specify authentication mode. In the drop down box, select User Authentication. Click the Save Credentials Button.

12. Type in the users AD account and password. In some cases we have had to preface the username with headquarters\

13.Click OK. Close out any screens remaining.

14.Computer should now be connected to the wireless network.
